Our Story

Hobo + co. is an independent home fragrance and wellness company based in rural Lincolnshire, England. Rachael founded hobo + co. in 2013 and has been self-taught right from the beginning, where it all started in her kitchen. Since then, there have been two workshop moves and now all our products are handmade in a dedicated candle studio on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds.

After living away for half her life and having an array of various 'careers' under her belt she found herself back home. Having grown up driving tractors on the family farm nearby, practical and manual work has always been preferable to sitting in an office!

Rachael has always travelled the world from a young age thanks to her parents' wanderlust which she has most definitely inherited. "I've always enjoyed making, creating and interior design. Candle making started back in 2013 and together with inspiration from my travels, living abroad and a love of the outdoors, hobo + co. was born and we are now thrilled to be stocked in various outlets over the globe."

Our Products

Soy wax, made from soya beans is more eco-friendly, ethical, sustainable and has a cleaner, healthier and longer burn time than traditional petroleum based paraffin candles. All our candles are petroleum and lead free, cruelty free and 100% vegan. and our packaging is either biodegradable, recyclable or reusable.

Each of our products is wicked, poured, labelled and carefully packaged all in-house by hand, by us.

Candle Care

For best results when lighting for the first time, allow the wax to melt to the sides of the jar, ideally for 2-4 hours to allow a full melt pool to form. This should ensure further consistent burns, to avoid tunnelling and candle waste. The maximum recommended burn time is 3-4 hours per burn. Always trim the wick after each burn by breaking or cutting off the burnt ends when cool to 5mm. It is recommended to cease burning when 5mm of wax is left in the container. The remaining wax could be used in an oil burner to avoid waste. Safety instructions can be found on the base of each candle.
